Have you been having trouble playing Thrillville and other new games? If so this is the Devhook for you. This devhook implements 2.81 firmware files with 2.71. The mixture of these files creates a devhook that can run all of the la-*test*-('") PSP games without flaw. nextek has released his new 2.81/2.71 Devhook Hybrid Installer for windows. This installer can install:

-2.8 hybrid devhook for 2.71SE
-2.8 hybrid devhook for 1.5
-Just the modified 2.71 firmware

so this doesn't allow you to play 2.81 games without ripping them? well, I'll try to modify the firmware to make it think its 2.81... It allows you to play games that were having trouble with normal devhook. Like the full thrillville iso and Yugioh. It also deals with the freezing in Need for speed Carbon and other games. So this is better than regular devhook.

What files do I need to modify (besides the Version.txt) to make the psp think its a higher firmware, like 2.81? Hmmm.....I don't have a clue. To be honest I messed around with the version.txt yesterday, and I screwed my devhook up. I don't know I'll try and do some research.

I found 2 places that have the firmware in it. I replaced the 2.71 version.txt with the 2.81 one and it still works, just doesn't think it's 2.81. Still says 2.71. I can't remember the other file i modified, but the same thing happened. I'm gonna look into how the 1.5 version spoof was done. Wait, maybe plain 2.71 is too secure now. Version spoofs don't work on SE.
